Bio
Shelby is a doctoral student and teaching fellow focusing in Rhetoric and Composition. Primarily, she works to develop interdisciplinary research on writing transfer with an emphasis on first-year composition pedagogy.
Years of teaching writing led to Shelby’s concern for transfer-focused pedagogies. Other areas of scholarly interest relative to her primary topic include knowledge retention, memory processes, learning theories, metacognition, and emerging neuro terminology (e.g., neuroeducation and neuropedagogy).
