Spring Faculty Colloquium

For the Spring colloquium, three faculty members in DOECL—Jessica Wolfe, Gabrielle Calvocoressi, and John McGowan—will discuss current scholarship, as well as conversations and provocations, in their respective areas, or fields.

As the newly appointed articles editor of Renaissance Quarterly, the leading journal in the field of Renaissance and early modern studies, Jessica Wolfe will discuss her work with the journal, and the trends she sees in the field from her unique vantage point. Gabrielle Calvocoressi will discuss the state of poetry in our contemporary moment. John McGowan will speak on his ongoing work on civility. Martin Johnson will serve as moderator, and will reserve at least fifteen minutes for questions.
