Medieval Gaming

Please join the Digital Literacy Communications Lab (DLC) in collaboration with the Medieval and Early Modern Studies (MEMS) program for a Medieval game night at The Gathering Place.
Dr. Harry Cushman, Assistant Professor of English & Comparative Literature at UNC, will lead a brief discussion on the importance of games for the Medieval period. Following this discussion, participants will play a variety of games. Some will be drawn from the medieval period itself, such as Viking Chess, and others are contemporary examples of games inspired by the middle ages, such as Bristol 1350 (2021).
Students, faculty, staff, and community members are invited. Food and drinks will be provided!
