Halloween Launch Party for Student Journal Aspect

October 22, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 11:00 pm

This is a party open to all UNC students and alumni

Zoom link:

Registration (required; see details below):

Are you a film lover? Are you someone who loves Halloween, too, and is bummed about not getting a party this year? Are you looking for an excuse to come up with a costume? All of the above?

There will be movie trivia and a costume contest with prizes. We encourage you to dress as your favorite movie character! Costumes are optional but strongly recommended. The trivia will cover all things film, from popular movie lines to camp horror classics. You’ll be going head to head against classmates and fellow film fans, so we encourage you to sign up with a team in advance at the link below.

To join the party, you must register in advance using the same Google Sheets link as above, signing up as either part of a team or as an individual.

At 9pm, we will turn things over to the Chapel Hill Film Society for a group screening of the cult horror classic The Evil Dead (Sam Raimi, 1981) on Netflix! One of the quintessential low-budget horror films, The Evil Dead follows five college students staying at an eerie cabin in the woods. After unwittingly unleashing a demonic presence amongst the fog-filled trees, they must survive against their own zombified friends while trying to escape. Equally terrifying and exciting, The Evil Dead is a blast from start to finish with its inventive makeup, creative scares, and low-budget charm!

To join the screening you must have a Netflix subscription and the Netflix Party extension. To use Netflix Party you must be using Google Chrome on a computer with the Netflix Party extension, available here:
