Blanche Armfield Spring 2023 Poetry Reading

Endowed by Miss Armfield, a 1925 alumna of the University, The Blanche Armfield Poetry Reading is an annual event that brings a prominent American poet to the English Department for a late afternoon reading, open to the public. The reading will be held on Thursday, April 13 from 3:30-5:00 in the Pleasants Family Room in Wilson Library.

This year’s poet Meg Day is the author of Last Psalm at Sea Level (Barrow Street, 2014), winner of the Barrow Street Press Poetry Prize and The Publishing Triangle’s 2015 Audre Lorde Award, and a finalist for the 2016 Kate Tufts Discovery Award. In addition, Day is an Assistant Professor of English & Creative Writing in the MFA Program at North Carolina State University.
