What are you most excited about at UNC?
As someone who completed my Ph.D. at UNC, I am most excited about simply returning to the composition classroom with some new (especially digital) approaches and fresh perspective. (I have recently been teaching middle schoolers—an invaluable pedagogical experience!)
What is a project you’re currently working on?
My interests include animal studies and prison education, so I’m currently reading Lori Gruen and Justin Marceau’s Carceral Logics: Human Incarceration and Animal Captivity (2022). I would love to integrate this material into a future ENGL 105i: Writing in Law class.
What is a fun fact about you?
I hang out with (i.e. feed and clean up after) goats, sheep, chickens, cows, ducks, and geese every week at the Piedmont Farm Animal Refuge in Pittsboro.
