The Department of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill is celebrating its 225th anniversary! The department will be holding a variety of virtual events related to rhetoric, writing, film, and literature at Carolina every week in September and October.

The celebration kicks off this Thursday, September 9, with a discussion with ECL’s new fiction writing professor Gabriel Bump. Find a list of all of the coming events here.

Make sure to also check out the digital timeline of the Department of English & Comparative Literature, created by the Digital Literacy and Communications Lab. The timeline is a living documentation of the department’s 225-year history.
