These courses should devote substantial instruction and evaluation to the writing process. The class will have:

  • class time devoted to practical and skills-based training built into the syllabus
  • time built into the syllabus for revision, peer review, and individual feedback on writing
  • writing-focused course outcome statements
  • a minimum of 15 pages of writing (in multiple assignments, not just a single writing assignment or presentation at the end of the course)
