Manages the Student Services Team (consisting of: Graduate Student Services Manager, Departmental Registrar and Undergraduate Student Services Manager, Departmental Program Coordinators for Creative Writing, Writing Program, HHIVE Lab, LMC, Latino/a Studies). Assists Associate Chair of Business Operations with the day-to-day operations of the combined business unit and ensures continuous operation of the business unit in times of increased workload or in the absence of the Associate Chair of Business Operations, assist with all matters including human resources, direct hiring, recruitment, scheduling, budgeting, & project management. Oversees hiring of all SHRA and EHRA student hiring; Serves as the Departmental TIM Administrator, Departmental Summer School Manager, Departmental Access Coordinator, Departmental Work Study HR Hiring Manager, and as one of the Departmental I-9 Agents.

Prepare and process travel, receipt reimbursements for students and faculty. Advise faculty of accounting regulations and maintain files to track claims. Work with co-workers to ensure all travel and award payments are received and processed. Review, obtain necessary approvals to submit faculty Arts & Sciences Travel requests. Process the receipt and deposit of all incoming checks to appropriate offices.

Duties:

Serves as 1st point of contact for Graduate Program. Maintains Graduate Database. Handles all Fellowships and Awards. Enroll eligible students in the Graduate Student Health Insurance Program (GShip). Processes Waiver of Hours forms. Processes tuition remissions. Process Admissions and Degree Applications. Process employment/payroll actions and tuition payments for all eligible graduate students who teach or serve in year-long research assistant positions. Handles all ePar processing for hiring, SWB and RWB of TF’s, TA’s, and RA’s. Works with Program Coordinator, Supervisor and Business Officer to coordinator information needed to communicate during Orientation to all new and returning Grad Students

Duties:

Responsible for course maintenance and assignments, and classroom scheduling for all undergraduate and graduate courses, registering students after the enrollment period has ended, course descriptions, collecting syllabi and course evaluations, as well as assisting students with their schedule.

Coordinates the Graduate Teaching Fellow assignment process for ENGL 105 and 105i each academic term. Assists with the hiring and onboarding process of Grad Students who are assigned teaching section. Assists with the LMC graduate program. Coordinates the Thomas Wolfe Scholoarship program. Manages websites and listservs for Creative Writing, Writing Program and MEMS, and participates in planning and coordinating various events and ceremonies for each program.
