Thesis Title: “KEEPING IT COUNTRY: Authenticity and Commodification of Country Music in Lee Smith’s The Devil’s Dream”
Ransom’s Favorite Line: “The multi-generational narrative passes through dirt floor homes and leads right up to the Opryland Hotel, but above all else, the family remains tied to their music, the cornerstone of their lives. It is an acknowledgment of the Appalachian family and art that remains forever in their blood.”
