The Carolina Center for Jewish Studies, the Hebrew program in the Department of Asian & Middle Eastern Studies, and the Center for Middle East and Islamic Studies are co-sponsoring several film screenings and discussions with filmmaker Avner Faingulernt about his work on the documentary, “Men on the Edge: Fishermen’s Diary.” Shot from 1999 to 2003, this film provides an intimate look at the delicate and fragile coexistence between Gazan fishermen and Israeli settlers who work together at the sea.These events are in-person at UNC and Duke University.Free and open to the public, no registration required.
