QUEER GENIUS Watch Party and Panel

| Please join the Ackland Film Forum and the Film Studies Program in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at UNC-Chapel Hill for a watch party and panel discussion of QUEER GENIUS. The film will be available for streaming starting this Friday, October 9, and the event will take place virtually on Tuesday, October 13, 7:00 & 9:00pm EDT.
QUEER GENIUS (2019, Chet Pancake) explores the remarkable lives of five queer female artists: Barbara Hammer, Eileen Myles, Black Quantum Futurism, Moor Mother, and Dynasty Handbag / Jibz Cameron. Watch along with filmmaker Chet Pancake at 7 p.m. and then join Chet and film scholars Franklin D. Cason Jr. (North Carolina State University), Sarah Keller (University of Massachusetts Boston), and Martin Louis Johnson (UNC-Chapel Hill) for a virtual post-film discussion at 9 pm. We will also be joined by a special guest—Barbara Hammer (1939-2019)’s partner, Florrie Burke. Links provided with registration.
