2012 Graduation Ceremony for the Department of English and Comparative Literature

Time: 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Date: Saturday, May 12th, 2012
Location: Paul Greene Theatre, UNC-CH
Invitations, RSVPs, and Guest Tickets
All seniors in the Department of English and Comparative Literature who have applied for graduation will receive an invitation to the graduation ceremony in the spring. If you plan on attending graduation, please RSVP. Guest tickets will be available for family members who would like to attend.
Dress
Students will be expected to wear academic regalia to graduation – cap, gown, honor cords, etc.

Disability Parking and Seating
Accommodations will be made for those with disabilities. We ask that students let us know if they plan to bring guests with disabilities.
Checking In
On the day of the event, students should check in at the Paul Greene Theatre no later than 1:45 p.m. The ceremony will begin promptly at 2:00 p.m.
The Ceremony
The ceremony will be brief. Beverly Taylor, the Department Chair, will say a few words of welcome. A few speakers will follow. We will then move directly to recognizing the graduates.

Pictures
We will contract with Photo Specialties so that each student can have a photo of his or her moment on stage. The photographer will provide proofs to families in the week following the ceremony. Reception
After the ceremony, there will be a reception in the lobby until 4:00 p.m. Light refreshments will be provided.
Specific details about guest tickets, parking, and other logistics will be posted in the spring.
